Who do you admire?
This essential first step is absolutely key to understanding what excites you about yourself, what gets you up in the morning.
So your first task is to make a list of 5, at most 10, people you admire .. but there are a couple of rules.
First, they have to be in the public eye (so not family members for instance). They don’t have to be massively famous, just enough for the Internet to know about them.
Second, they can be from any walk of life .. artists (painters, musicians, actors, authors, poets), politicians, possibly sports people, business people, scientists but if you get to the stage of trying to whittle down your list, what you’re really looking for is .. we’re going to extract their values, so especially if you’ve chosen an artist in a similar genre to you, where you might tend to admire their technique, try to choose people for their character, for their approach to life.
For inspiration, walk around your house. Check your bookshelf and your record collection.
